Titanium is not rejected by the body and has the same expansion ratio as normal bone. It is also strong and durable but quite expensive but no worry for due to its strength, not much is used for these dental procedures. The titanium screws/implants are roughened-up by sandblasting or plasma spraying which renders it the proper texture that would allow bone to anchor the implant securely. During the whole healing and treatment period, the patient is usually advised to avoid full mastication to prevent any irritation and infections to the treatment area. </p>
