More on Dental Implant Complications

implantfail.jpgA dental implant can fail due to one of several factors which may prevent a stable bond from forming allowing the implant to move around in a dental term called clinical mobility. Clinical mobility is the failure of the normal mechanics which ensures osseointegration of an implant into the bone preventing proper stability thus allowing the implant and other structures it supports to move around. This can cause more damage for the soft tissue becomes inflamed and can even have an infection spreading into the jawbone itself defeating the procedure that has been done. Another problem would be occlusal overload by which too much implants has weakened the jaw whereby preventing further improvements to be done.
